Temporary Admissions authorises us to hold items (again depending on classification) under our authority for up to 24 months, suspending VAT and duty charges prior to sale.
Inward processing Relief allows Mtec to hold certain items under our authority for up to six months, specifically for the completion of repairs.
‘Home Use’ is widely utilised by many of our customers, where all VAT and duty charges are paid with the format of customs control no longer in place.
Shipping Services
Our reputation for the large and complex means lateral thinking is second nature. Shipping timelines can often be sensitive, whether travelling on land, by air, or sea, however, safety is always paramount. Utilising our in-house services, depth of knowledge and trusted network of international fine art partners, we strive to provide a seamless door-to-door approach of the highest standard.
Airfreight: Mtec are Air and Sea freight specialists, our Regulated Agent Status (DofT/CAA) allows Mtec to screen artworks in-house, collect from Known Consignors (such as museums) and deliver direct to airlines as “known cargo” for full airport supervision.
Road: For larger airfreight that is more time sensitive, valuable or oversized, the shipping team utilises our extensive and diverse fleet of fine art vehicles to deliver cargo to LGG, LUX, CDG and FRA airports at competitive prices. Mtec’s regular European shuttles consolidate shipments and ensures competitive prices and by sharing the space, it ensures lower carbon outputs. With branches in Belgium and Italy, Mtec is always in Europe and can pull on local partners to arrange full airport supervision upon arrival and departure.
Whether your artwork fits in a consolidated enclosed container for our regular trans-atlantic crossings, needs an out of gauge container or guaranteed underdeck RoRo vessel, Mtec’s industry leading end-to-end process works to reduce carbon emissions, with port supervisors offering additional assurances.
Structural Engineering
Structural calculation and design are a pre-requisite for any public body or exhibition organisers prior to inclusion of artwork for exhibition, our team can design and warrant an engineering package to protect and assist exhibitors and artist alike backed up by an extensive warranty.
Concrete Plinths and Foundation Fabrication
This has the advantage of minimising the time spent on site during installation of a concrete foundation or plinth and sculpture to a same day service, fabrication foundations and plinths on site would normally take several days which can be problematic during tight installation windows, our method allows for a surprise reveille for maximum affect.
