Staff Spotlight – Paul Regan

November 2024

We recently caught up with Team Leader, Paul Regan on his time at Mtec

How long have you been with Mtec and what has your journey been like?

I have been with Mtec now for five and a half years. Previously I was an Art Handler for another company in our industry.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

It’s quite a diverse role, I like the fact that no two jobs are the same. One day I could be installing a two ton sculpture, the next hanging a 2D frame of a picture or painting.

What has been your most exciting project to be involved in?

I’d say transporting a bronze diplodocus that weighed approximately 20 tons. We had to travel to Madrid and return it to one of our warehouses in the UK before going out for installation in London. The collection took around 10 days in total.

Which artist’s work has grown on you over the years of carrying
out installations?

It’s hard to say because we see so much work but I have to mention the artwork of Banksy, Barbara Hepworth and Damien Hirst. They’re just a few who have created some amazing art.

What makes Mtec unique compared to other art handling companies?

Our long standing project managers are really good and have the expertise and experience, I also think the skill level of our core technicians, you don’t get any better and they’re always willing to go the extra mile. Mtec is always developing and upskilling technicians and I’m now in a role where I’m able to train those
willing to learn new skills. The complete package and service that Mtec offers you won’t find anywhere else.
